The team is specialized in data analysis, image analysis and recognition, machine learning, computational intelligence, and the most recent research project is related to face recognition and decision-making theory.
Paweł Karczmarek is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science of KUL. He was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Alberta (2011–2012). His research areas are pattern recognition, computer vision, granular computing, soft computing, multi-criteria decision-making theory, and computational mathematics. He is an author of over 30 scientific papers, editor of American Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, Intl. Journal of Machine Intelligence and Sensory Signal Processing, and Journal of Information Systems Engineering & Management, TPC member of 10 international conferences, and reviewer of over 250 journal/conference papers.
