Today, through “Logistics 4.0”, Ekol is ready not only to modify the future of the logistics industry, and transforming the world. Inspired by technology, as a consequence of “Logistics 4.0”, the Ekol R&D Centre is conducting research and development focused on digitalization and visualization, process integration with internet and mobile applications, inter-object networks, cloud computing and communications technologies, simulation, and robotic systems. Logistics 4.0 implementations of Ekol includes multiple areas of transformation and technology development. Using IoT solutions for online operational data visibility, augmented reality and image processing for minimisation of human involvement in processes, dynamic optimisation solutions in planning, mobile apps, data analytics and machine learning are the major areas that company is willing to invest and in several of them there are ongoing projects and already achieved targets. Ekol offers LTL and FTL intermodal transportation services between Turkey and all European countries, with one of the largest and most modern vehicle fleets in Turkey and Europe. Ekol is now providing service in Germany, Romania, Italy, Bosnia, France, Greece, Hungary, Spain, Poland, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Iran with its over 750,000 square meters own warehouse. It boasts a fleet of over 5,500 vehicles and a multi-national workforce of 6,500 employees.
Ebru Al has been working as a R&D project expert at EKOL and executing many projects such as optimization solutions for national and international transportation processes. She is also specialized in Logistics 4.0 applications. Currently, she has been doing her PhD in industrial engineering and her main research interests are applications of mathematical modelling and novel optimization techniques.
